Which oil filter cap is on your motor?
Here is a picture of 2 oil filter caps. The one on the left is OEM, the one on the right is aftermarket. Which is on your truck?

The left one is the Ford OEM cap, the one on the right is a NAPA WIX cap designed for the WIX filter.
Same with this one below. ![]() Same goes for the aftermarket filters. On the pic below, the left one is a Motorcraft/racor filter and the one on the right is a Puralator filter. Notice how the Puralator is shorter.

Some folks are putting a "Racor" Motorcraft filter in the cap on the right. Just doesn't work right. The fit, from what I have been seeing, doesn't close the drain valve in the housing.
