Water in fuel question

Man this is probably a dumb question but how do you drain the water and fuel seperator? I've had my truck for about a year and never even knew you were supposed to do it. I replace the fuel filters every other oil change but could I have damaged anything from not draining it?

Sweet so you don't have to drain it until your light comes on

You should check it at least once a month and drain the water out.

When the light comes on it is to late, as stated need to drain off about 2oz a month and keep the tank full to keep it from sweating.
