help understanding these codes??

2 codes popped up today p0404 & p0405. I looked them up in the 6.0 BIBLE http://dan.prxy.org/Truck/6L_bible_h...5_1280r300.jpg
Can I clean the valve to fix this or is it time for a new one? Or am i looking at replacing something other than the actual valve?

The codes are,P0404 is "Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit range/Performance' P0405 is "Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit Low"
Is everything stock? Check to see if the EGR plug is conneted properly. Then delete the codes and see if they come back. If they do Try cleaning the valve as it may be coked with soot for a start.

With those 2 codes cleaning the valve will not help it. If your valve is properly connected those 2 codes mean that you have a dead spot in the sensor on top of the valve. I've seen a bunch of valves fail with these codes recently.
