2003 6.0 stand pipe question
I'm trying to remove the oil rail and stand pipe from the head on a 2003 6.0 It's the old style with braided hose and round straight rail. I thought you could twist and pull out. Is that the way or am I missing something? Help please!

Check out the thread called. 03 6.0 no start/no codes
I posted pics of removal. You need some small needle nose pliers to put in there. Stick the tips in and gently lift up to push the hidden ring clip down and lift up on the assembly. If you need to remove the injector wires just tap a 19mm twelve point socket on them and they'll pop right through. Sent from my Autoguide iPhone app |

The large 15/16 nut unthreads from the oil rail. No need to unclip the lower side.

Thanks. I found a video on youtube it showed how to remove. Release the black plastic connection so you can put a socket on and unscrew. To release the braided line from the stand pipe I used a die grinder wrench that looks just like the purpose specific tool. I was trying with a crows foot to loosen the nut before I figured out how to release the braided line and it would not work. I figured out you must release the line from the stand pipe then use a large socket and ratchet.
