Angry TRANS SHIFT FLARE!!!

Ok. I've got this crazy shift flare from 3 to 4 at WOT, and it's starting to piss me off. My question is, if i get rid of the Edge tuner and get a SCT with a custom tune, say Gearhead's or Innovative, will that solve the problem? Has anyone used the Edge tuner and switched to the SCT? If so, what kind of differences did you notice? Love switching power levels on the go, but hate the trans shifting. Thanks in advance.

hopefully that helps you man.'
That is the reason people with 6.0s DO NOT reccomend anything but SCT. Not saying anything to you, but in general.

Other tuners kill the tranny so if you dont see any different results do not be mad at SCT.
They are made to keep the tranny from dying, not bring it back from the dead!

If that happens... fix the tranny and run ONLY SCT and that will prevent future problems.

Plus a broken tranny is only an excuse to put a better/ built one in

You're getting a flare on the direct (3-5) shift not the 3-4 the trans never shifts 3-4. If yours is flaring replace the direct clutch solenoid, its weak. The Evolution tunes the transmission, but i would still recommend a custom tuned sct.

Had the 3-5 shift flare with another custom tune. Was fine at first, then after a month it started. I got the Srl extreme+ from Matt and asked him to beef up the 3-5 shift. So far so good.

Could you explain some more? I feel it physically shift from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to5 and then tc lockup. That's 5 shifts. How does it never shift 3 to 4?

because the torqshift has 6 forward gears. 3 and 4 are so numerically close it's not practical to shift from one to the other

You could also get a direct drive solenoid from doug and that would solve the shift flare also. just google gogo direct drive solenoid and he should come up. its cheap and a very easy upgrade.
