Buying a truck with a 6.0

If you were going to buy a truck with a 6.0, completely stock, that no rookie has dicked with, what year of truck with a 6.0 would you buy?

I am partial to the 05-07 front end... plus it is newer.

(I know you can upgrade the front end on the older ones but if hes in the market then why?)

07 would be best cuz its the newest.. IE. interior, color fading, ect. IMO But I have an 05 cuz it was a great deal

it really dont matter just check deltas and coolant leaks/residue on the coolant bottle.
and OASIS before buying!!!

I guess I should be more specific. Least amount of engine problems is what I'm after. They built this engine for what, 5 years and very few people have anything nice to say about it. Way I see it, building something that long they must have gotten it right sometime.

Well, 05-07 would be the better years to look for. The problems with the STC fitting on the hpops were fixed in 06 and 07, so there is less worry there. Most of the other issues were worked out then as well. My 07 just has an intake, exhaust and my tunes and I have never had an issue with it. I just want to get out of a truck payment for a truck that sits most of the time now.

2007, keep in mind it doesnt matter if some kid dicked with it or not. Some trucks are good some arent, more luck of the draw

I say the 05-07 because of the suspension and interior also. You are not just buying an engine, you have to consider the complete truck. If you can do your own work you can make them as reliable as any truck for about $1k.

It would only make sense that they fixed problems in later years...maybe. That said, these are all reasons I bought an 06.
