The extended warranty has to be purchased before the original warranty runs out.

That used to be the case but I'm not so sure about that now. When I bought my truck it was out of 5/100 powertrain but our finance manager insisted I could still purchase diesel care or diesel care plus

Are there better companys out there for these type of warranty work

No, absolutely not. It is in any aftermarket warranties best interest that you do not exceed the total cost of the contract in repairs. Many aftermarket warranties will see that this does not happen by any means possible. After all what do they care if you're happy or not, they've already got your money.
Ford ESP is tough, don't get me wrong, they want to see meticulous maintenance records and a relatively well taken care of truck, occassionally they will send inspectors out to document everything. If there are no concerns after that they will almost always pay. edit - According to the ESP link posted the contract must be purchased within the 5/100 powertrain, so I guess that throws that idea out Last edited by sinner6.0L; 02-22-2012 at 05:06 PM. |

See what they say and let us know. I've never had a diesel come through the shop with an aftermarket warranty. I'm not sure how they handle such costly repairs seemingly common to these engines
