430K new purchase

Just bought 2002 E-450, (7.3) with 430K hopefully (carfax info) highway miles. New to diesel technology, but have experience, test equipment, and tools to work on gas engines. Diesel at this time runs excellent without smoke, but I'm trying to learn before something goes wrong. Wondering what books, tools, and test equipment would be recommended. I plan at this time to do all service operations stating with a compression test, as soon as I have the knowledge, and buy the best recommended testing equipment. I would also like to know what items would be wise to have professional done.

Love the E-450 Unicell, and we don't see them often in Southern California. Just hove I haven't paid for a headache.

Unicell is made where I live in buffalo. There is a million of them around here. They hold up pretty good.

Thanks for the good words. I never knew why they are not seen on the west coast. This unit was shipped directly to Arizona after assembly and has no signs of rust on the frame.
