Thermostat Bad?
So I took the 03 6.0 Excursion out to check the temps after the Edge Insight CTS install. Well I let it warm up and drove it about 35 miles down the highway doing about 65. According to what I've read here that's the magic #. My ECT never got above 176 and EOT at 187. So from what I'm reading on the org it sounds like my Thermostat is stuck because it doesnt get to 190? Is this correct? If so does anyone have the part # for a new one.

Yep, looks like your thermostat is sticking open. I don't know the part number.

The thermostat is RT-1169 or PN: 8575. The thermostat is available at DieselFiltersOnline.com:

i got mine at napa for $33 bucks and installed today. mine was stuck open as well and i never realized that low 170's wasn't right, its been like that since ive had the truck (5 months)... heated right up to 192 (oem spec) and it seems to run a lot better
hints on the labor... don't try and work around that fuel line.. its a quick and easy unbolt that will make your life wayyy easier |
