Ok guys. I finally got the flushing done and "Final Charge" Cat-1 EC rated Silicate Free 600,00 Red coolant 3.5 gal inside and flowing. Thanks to all who have helped along the way be it slapping me awake or just chiming in. I will be hitting the big road again tomorrow afternoon to put my work to the test. I have 1/2 gallon remaining to the coolant. Should I add a half gal to that of distilled water for keeping up the system or no.

That would be a good plan to put in your road kit. Make sure to mark it as mixed.

Yes, and run the truck for a bit with the heater on, then let it cool a bit, and slowly let the pressure off. Add some if needed, usually a little bit of air will work out. The revised fill mark is at or below the min line, I run mine about a half inch lower.

Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get.

That's exactly where you want it to be when cold.

Correct, I should have made that clear. Thank you.

Wednesday I left for a quick trip to Indiana and back. Pulled a 39' 17,000 lbs trailer down to the gulf and back to the house. 2,815 miles in 3 days. After the EGR Delete, Oil Cooler Replace and Coolant Filtration System (Package Deal from Custom Diesel) the only issue I had was;
I first noticed that the coolant system had stopped holding pressure. I began looking for leaks at that point and (Thanks to the red color) noticed coolant leaking from the thermostat base. Coolant loss was minimal and after tightening the two bolts just a bit regained pressure holding. I stopped at a couple Ford Dealerships looking for a new "O-Ring", with no success even when asking for a new thermostat. I then stopped at a NAPA store who readily had both (go figure). I got to the house yesterday afternoon and pulled the thermostat off with the hose attached and noticed the state of the art spring clamp was allowing coolant seepage as well (Album).
Pulled coolant out, associated parts, cleaned, replaced "O-Ring", upgraded hose clamps and replaced coolant. Real happy with results.
Thanks to all involved who got it through my head the importance of the cooling system and what it needs / wants.
