I think we may be in for trouble against the 6.7
I picked up a Diesel World magazine today. They had a 2012 6.7 vs a 2011 Dmax. The Dirtymax did 346hp,646tq. The Ford did 381hp and 745tq. Those #s are bone stock. I then went to Gearheads website where they have dyno graphs posted. SRL did 380hp 730tq. Does that mean a 6.7 stock is as fast as a tuned 6.0 and the tuned 6.0 cant tow but the 6.7 can? What will tuned 6.7s be putting down. Gotta love technology.

Earlier this year I read a head-to-head Ford vs. Chevy on towing in mountains...I recall one of the post-test comments indicating the 6.7 programming had been updated by ford to produce 400hp/800lb-ft. My office has a 2011 F-450 with the 6.7.

The numbers I used were all RWHP. The 400/800 rating is at the crank.

Those numbers don't seem right if it's rwhp. That would mean that the ford only has about 5% loss through the drivetrain

all i got to say is that the other night i was looking at the 6.7 forum on here and the only one i got into was the pics of towing and yeah they had some good pics, but the motor just came out ive heard of some problems the 6.0 had probs the 6.4 had probs and now these do, i can work on the 6.0 easier than the other two i can straight pipe it easier tune it easier since the 6.7s you need an unlock code. ill stay with my 6.0

It also sounds like a gasser. I couldn't even tell one was running when I walked in front of it at a stop sign.

Maybe the dyno numbers seem high because it underrated from the factory. Overall with my 6.0 I am very pleased. If money were no object I would also have a 6.7. I cant get rid of the 6.0. Its my first diesel.

My bosses 2011 ccsb 4x4 KR won't quite keep up with my 6.0 with the SRL, but it's not far behind. If he had a tune I'd be in trouble for sure.

When H&S dyno'd a 6.7 it stock they saw 333 hp and 677 tq. If it were underrated from the factory with a 20% loss through the drivetrain, it would have to have been around 480 hp stock. I don't think it would have been that underrated.

true. What does a stock 6.0 put down?
