Tranny Question

This is not a tranny problem, just a question so I put it in the general discussion . When I'm going down the interstate say 70mph on my Looney Wild tune, if I roll the throttle to the floor the trans stays locked in OD and it pulls like a freight train! On the other hand if I stab the throttle at 70mph, it will downshift and the truck accelerates but not as quickly as when it stays locked in gear. Is it better to let the truck stay locked in gear or to make it downshift? I had a guy tell me that leaving it locked in gear is really bad for the tranny, and its actually better for it to downshift.

If you are towing, (which I wouldn't) then make it downshift. If it's just the truck, let it stay locked.
