just want to get good opinions
first hey guys and thanks for looking at thread . but i was thinking about starting an auto transporting business with my 6.0 (in my signature) . and i am not planning on doing it till nxt year (that gives me enough time to get the trailer and some captial) but do u guys think it will get good service out of the truck ? or do i need to think about getting another truck thats not a 6.0 ? and i know things will fail and i know things will break . but would i be better off getting something thats proven . cuz every thing i have read about auto transporting all the guys say stay away from 6.0's ? any info would be great

I would really look at the weight you will be pulling. Or carrying. I'm not familiar with weights of vehicles and the trailer you get. Can your 05 F350 LEGALY carry out your plans?
As for the motor, you have things well in hand. Do you have gauges? For this kind of work, I would go Edge CTS with EGT probe and fuel pressure set up. Think about an added fuel tank. |

yea i think the 6.0 can do the job just get some gauges so you can watch your temps. not much that can go wrong with your truck.

yea i think the tags i plan on getting it 26k. so i think it will b ok.far as weight mabe get some different tires lol something more road friendly. and yes i agree with the gauges they u in the near future like in nxt 2 months . and i feel like the 5 speed automatic trans r pretty good from what i read . and my plans on bypass oil filter is something i feel like i want to get and other than that im hoping it will be a good truck it has 168k on it now and 5k on new headgaskets and studs so thats pretty good.and i do know it will be normal problems with any truck that u work alot but i just dnt want to go in debit for the business and then have one problem after another with the truck u know ?

When you get going, might want to think about a tow tune with SCT custom tunes. If I have read right, I don't always do that, but a good tow tune will help with breaking. Might want to make sure about your breaks before you do your first run.
If you do look at tunes, make sure you let them know what you are doing, weights included. Yes, tires should be changed! Good luck! |

yes i figure by the time i get going i will have worn the mt out. and i have looked at the tow tunes by innovate i think that might get me an extra mi or two per gallon. and thanks for all the imput . cuz the longer i can make the truck last means more money in the pocket.
