Transmission fluid change

Is the pan gasket reuseable?
I have always used WIX tranny filters in the past, are both internal and external good to use wix?
While I am at NAPA will NAPA brand mercon do just fine?

The gasket is reusable and I'd stick with Ford fluid and filters.

The internal is more of a screen. The external must be a Ford or Racor.

anyone have a good link for the external? I hate going to the dealer. Actually, by chance would Internationals use the same tranny and filters? My International dealer is cheap.

I put a wix external element in after I changed fluids from the break in period. Lined it up side by side with a motorcraft filter and there was no difference at all. I used wix for oil and fuel and never had any trouble out of those either.

As for the fluid, use only mercon lv or sp(if you can find it) I think redline makes an alternative but you will pay dearly

I use Wix in all my gas cars. Good stuff. For these trucks, everything will be Ford/International/Racor for me!
