I need a new alternator...?

I need a new alternator for my truck, on my insight the voltage has been only running around 12.2-12.8 at idle. The batteries are less then a year old so I am pretty sure that it is the alternator. I was wondering if I should replace it with the 110 amp one or something bigger. I do run a few accesories so I do need the alternator to keep up. What would you guys suggest for a replacement alternator? I was also just curious on price so I was looking at Oreileys for prices and noticed that they only sell the 110 amp, but they sell the larger amps, but they are for dual alternator systems. Will the top alternator off of the dual system work on a single alternator system? Thank you for the help in finding an alternator I dont think that I need the 215 amp ambulance one though.

Thanks,

Will

I know a guy that has this http://nationsautoelectric.com/tad.html 190 on his 7.3(same alt as 6.0) and he has all kinds of lights, a plow, a compressor for train horns, and a huge amp for his subs and it feeds all those without a hick up.

The snow plow option came w/ a 140A alternator (which was part of the dual alternator setup).

You can install the 140A unit.

Lots of forum folks are going w/ DC Power units. They are very nice.

I've been pretty happy with my powerbastards.com 220a alternators on my E250 van and my 05 Ex. Solid voltage and more amps than I'll probably ever need, but heck, they're there just in case!

It cost $209. I didnt think that was too bad for the 140 amp.
