Anyone build a platform to work on their truck?

After doing my EGR delete and probably going to have to tear all back down again, I realized how much it sucks reaching anything. I have a step stool I used but it sucked, stool, bumper, jump down, move stool, step on bumper, climb down, miss stool, fall on ground, ect. I have a ton of 2x4's laying around to frame something up, I would just need some plywood for the top. I was thinking something like this that wrapped around to the wheels and about head light height. Go easy on me for the MS paint, this took 5 mins and it sucks on a laptop with no mouse. Anyone done anything like this?

Looking down from the top

Side view, would wrap around just for the height and step view.

Being a welder, I was gonna build a platform like yours, out of bar grating and hss tubing, but with hooks for latching onto the bumper hooks, and two posts on the outsides for support. Light, detachable, portable!

I like your idea with the bumper hooks. Mine would be so big and heavy I dont think it will move.

Next time I need to spend time under the hood, I'm bringing home a bunch of milk crates and zip tying them together, 2 high, 2 deep, with a few in strategic places 3 high.

Humm.. that sounds like alot less work than my idea.

Off topic, thanks for the correct eot equation, it reads fine now but just that gauge shuts off after about 30 seconds, I just restart the app when I want to check it again. my deltas are still 4-6 so I'm happy. Did you do that thing you were going to try this morning?

Yes I did, seems to read faster. Glad I did it.

When I need to work on the girl for a long amount of time, I back my dodge to the front of the ford and drop its tailgate. Instant platform!!

I have a big cable spool I stand on, and a bunch of foam pads taped together. Bullet Proof Diesel has a new platform that hooks to the tow eyes.
