6.0 questions
Hi all, Im looking at F-250 and 350 4x4 diesels and have seen some Higher mileage 6.0's with between 125k to 180k miles. How many miles can a stocker usually go? Are the trucks with the 7.3 better?
If I do buy one with that kind of mieage and do the deletes and head studs/tuner will I blow the bottom end out of it? or if I buy one that is high mileage is there anyone doing 6.0 performance crate motors out there as I've never seen any mentioned??? I'm not looking for 800HP just a great running/pulling truck -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

It all depends on how well it was taken care of. I would get an OASIS report on the truck. That can show you everything done under warranty. What years are you looking at? Some of the early ones tend to be the ones with the most problems.

Stay away from 03/04 6.0s because they tend to have more problems than 05-07 models. 125k miles isn't alot of miles on a diesel engine. I've seen plenty of people with 250k+ miles on 6.0s and still running strong. Like stated above check out an OASIS to see what happened under warranty and really check over the truck good before buying. The bottom end on 6.0s is very stout. If you get the top end taking care of, then you got a solid motor that can make a lot of power
