Which fuel pump setup will be more reliable?
My stock HFCM pump is on the fritz.
I have another one in hand. I have been thinking about playing with a custom fuel system. But then thinking again, do I really need it? I plan to have a regulated return, whether I build it or buy. I have a fuel tank sump in hand already. Would I be better off with a sump, Racor filter, to OEM pump, OR a sump & Airdog 2? I never plan to upgrade to bigger injectors, or bigger turbo. I dont want more horse power. I just want more reliability. I am leaning towards the OEM pump setup. And plus, I can carry an extra pump with me, and change it fairly easily on the side of the road if needed. I dont have the coin to keep an extra Airdog setup in my toolbox. |

I have an Airdog II and been running it for about 2years with no problems.
My truck has a tuner, turbo and some other goodies. My OEM pump was on the way out so I jumped to the Airdog for ease and cost of the filters $15-18 each, instead of $65-70 It is also a LOT better at filtering and getting any water out of the fuel. Are you stationed in NH ? |
