Project Tango
I have decided to buy me a used 2006-2007 crew cab 4x4 xlt or better
project truck. I am looking at some trucks with max amount of $15,000. I have decided since I am going to college this would be the way to go, and this way I wont be in debt. I can build the truck up as I go. I plan on putting a lot of money in the truck over time. I really want to make my truck unique, and my own. 1. How many miles is to many in a project truck? 2. any words of advice? |

It'll be tough to find a deal like that without it having something wrong. Good luck man. You might be able to find one that needs oil cooler, studs, gaskets, etc but then thats 15 plus the work on the motor.

It is not so much of too many miles, it is more of how much you want to build up your motor...

Miles doesn't matter it's the care it received. I got 186k on mine and your $15k is a tad short if you want to buy mine.

Ford : F-250 Ford : F-250 | eBay
Ford : F-250 Ford : F-250 | eBay These are just a couple but the deals are out there, dont pay too much whatever you do truck wholesalers like the one I bought my truck from know how notorious 6.0s are and usually pick them up cheap from auction and sell them for what they can get. Figure you want less than 15k you can get a nice truck with 160,000-200,000 miles. Get oasis reports so you know what has been done |

Defiantly some things to consider on this project. I feel by the time I put the money into the engine I could have a nice 6.4 ,but I think the 6.0 will be cheaper to work with. The 6 is a lot easier to work on and more explored.
