NAPA ELC

Reading on the forums Cat coolant (which is in my truck) or NAPA ELC are the best coolants to use. Went to pick up some Zerex from NAPA to use in a buddies truck and the part number I gave the guy, ZXED1, was meet with a blank look. He said that the G-05 in a gold bottle #3477 was the only Diesel ELC he carried. Is this the correct stuff??

They have the 50/50 blend of it on amazon with free shipping also....

For me, it depends who I speak to at Napa, some people know right away, others you get the blank look. Instead of trying to explain, just say you need RED Caterpillar coolant, and its got a tractor or piece of equipment. That usually saves you from the "you should be using this in your truck" speech.

You can't use the 50/50 premix when flushing, since the block retains 50% of total capacity. You need the concentrate for a flush-and-fill.

When I ordered mine I just went in and said I need to order some coolant with the part number ZXED1. Guy looked it up in the computer and placed the order without asking any questions. Got it the next morning.

The guy told me that they usually have it in stock, but he said "For some reason it is their most popular coolant". Gee I wonder why? LOL
