Data error question
I recently had my truck stolen and recovered. The method of theft was the drivers door lock and the ignition punched. They cut the wires to the dash but i had a professional electrician rewire all the wires. Everything in the dash works. The radio was removed but i installed it again. The key fob works perfect. The problem that I am having is that the auto locks and auto lamp delay does not work. Also, the driver or passenger door ajar sign stays on after all the doors are closed, the radio stays on and the interior lights stay on. The door ajar, the radio issue and the interior lights are intermittent. I sprayed the door latches with wd40 but still does it intermittenly. The auto locks and the auto lamp delay never work. I am also getting a data error under the auto locks and the auto lamp delay in the instrument panel. Any ideas?

Ideas:
Short circuit somewhere - wire harness crossed or simply not reconnected? Poor ground connection somewhere - usually this with "intermittent" problems Blown fuses somewhere User option setup reprogramming (i.e., select auto lock to "on" versus "off") You have multiple errors and could have multiple causes for each discrete electrical issue here. This is tedious wire trace and continuity check territory. Be patient and thorough and you'll find the problems. Good luck! Jonathan |
