whens this REV-X supposed to kick in???
well i have had the rev-x in for about 250 miles or so and havent really noticed much. i switched to 5w-40 mobil 1 full synthetic oil. i figured just switching oil would do what little i have noticed, i figured rev x plus this synthtic oil would have my 6.0 running great but only thing i have noticed is that cold starts are a little better and the engine sounds quieter but who knows. everyone claimed it did so much but im not happy about spending $70 bux yet
![]() here is a video, i know the temps are different but it got cold quick, truck wasnt plugged in either time |

mine kicks in right away but I have pretty bad stiction issues and it sounds like my truck has a cam when its cold, that all goes away pretty quick with rev x

sounds like you need some batteries

My thoughts also, sound a little weak.

If you don't have stiction issues, you won't see much of a gain. My injectors are in super good health, and I run two bottles every oil change with 5W-40. I do it just for peace of mind. Overkill? Probably. But my engine loves it!!

does sound like weak batteries though, might just be because of the cold though, or they are gettin old

Travis, this is my truck at 8am on 11/9/11, out side temp was in the low 40's.

My batteries were replaced 3/2010 with motorcraft batteries installed by ford when I had some warranty stuff done. I'm actually going tomorrow to hopefully get them replaced under warranty. I have reciept for the batteries. Anything I should say to them or do u think they will give me a hard time?
My truck does the cammed thing also. I havent had many cold starts to see if it is still is as bad because it just warmed up to 50-60's but it's started to get cold again. Our 04 does crank faster. I just don't want to wipe out another ficm. Just had that replaced less then a year ago. Maybe my truck wasn't running bad. I just compare it to our 04 and it runs so good compared to mine, but it only has 24k on it and mine has 67k miles. Is that why? |

Travis, I didn't hear any reason to run RevX on the first cold start. Mine will do the same thing during a cold start. Chugs a bit then smooths right out. I'd suggest you look at a Battery Tender Waterproof 800 battery trickle charger. I use one every 2-3 weeks to give the batteries a good charge.

FICM strategies, FICM voltage, Glow plugs and controller are all variables between the trucks, Rev X is not a cure all for these things. My 04 will start@less than 20 degrees and run evenly in less than 30seconds with over 110k miles, t6 Rottella, No revX,PHP FICM strategy w/o inductive heating. Weak batteries will probably affect the glow plugs, and FICM as well as the Cranking speed.
