what year is it?
Ok, so how can you tell what year a powerstroke is from looking at the truck if you don't have the VIN. What are the distinguishing "changes" in the badges, trim, etc. that could help someone tell the difference between say a 2005 and a 2007? It would be interesting to be able to identify what year a truck is when I see it. I am interested in a 2007 and hope to pull the trigger this Spring. Thanks.

05-07s look all the same. Door tag is your indicator. I dont know if there were any only 05/06/07 wheels or not?

You could look on the motor and look at the motor date and get a good guess.
There is also another VIN on the driver side, between the windshield and dash, inside. Unless you're saying you have no way of retrieving them ATM, in that case, nothing visual I don't think. |

The drivers door pillar sticker will give the month/year it was built. It's hard for those years but you would need to pop the hood or open the door to confirm.
IIRC there were some years with no MAF sensor which might have been the 2005 MY. So looking at the intake could tell you but don't bet on that one. |

Check all the above. There are quite a few 03-04s running around looking like 05-07s these days. There are even some looking like 08s too.
