The dashboard cluster report of DTCs is not reliable - useful in a pinch if nothing else is available and you have Ford resources availalbe. I advise you to get an OBDII scan tool to read the DTCs. The Edge Insight and SCT or ScanGauge are highly recommended.

I hooked it up to a SnapOn Scanner and didn't read it. Would love to get a good scanner. Can't afford one because of xmas but I have requested a CTS or CS from my girlfriend as a xmas gift. Lets see if that pans out. Something tells me that won't happen.

Visit the local NAPA, CarQuest, O'Reilly Auto, AutoZone, Advance Auto, etc.
They have the scanners that are able to pull DTCs...and they don't charge anything for the service. Jonathan |

Quick search produced this.
All that Ford tells us about these codes are that they are memory codes. I don't know of any available documentation for what they mean. To properly poll the HEC (Hybrid Electronic Cluster), a capable scan tool is required. Bottom line, checking the odometer for codes in this manner serves no real purpose. The HEC cannot retrieve codes from any other module. The code could be generated simply because your truck may not have an available option. |
