LOOKING FOR BAD HG VIDEO
As title says: Everyone talks about a "tea kettle whistle" when you have bad HGs, but I can't find a video or audio of this. Anyone?
Oh and yes I know about how to properly diagnose HGs, I am just looking for the video of the sound |

Type that phrase in the search function

Or check Youtube.

I've looked at both options - no videos of hissing associated with HG failure. Lots of videos on pressure testing the degas tank, no vids showing the actual sound that people describe.

I was worried because I noticed a lot of pressure in my cap when I opened it the other day after running the truck for a while. THe fluid came up a little bit, but nothing crazy. No puking, max EOT I see at 65 unloaded is 199-201, ECT usually stays around 190. I did see some white steam/smoke during cold starts only. Truck fires up with a puff of black smoke, then nothing, then some white smoke/steam for 30 seconds to 1 minute depending on how cold it is. Then smoke dissapears and nothing else. Glad to get the video - because I don't have that tea kettle whistle as shown in the video. |

These are pressurized cooling systems.
Even if it's puking, it doesn't mean blown HGs... Could be the the EGR cooler is blown, or the oil cooler is clogged |

Agreed - but with a spread of less than 15 I think (hope) that it means it is not blown. I've wanted to delete the egr but it seems like everytime I tear into this engine I **** something up (see thread about stripped FPR housing during blue spring mod).
