Max HP???

I will be installing a Adrenaline engine control system (180 Hp) from Quadzilla Performance on my 6.0

and most likely a Garrett Turbo upgrade (175 Hp)

This will not be a "track" truck but just some light upgrades for the road.

How far can I take these performance upgrades before I have to upgrade engine componets like gaskets, head bolts, fuel delivery etc?

Or am I already required to make some upgrades since I am adding 355 hp to the stock 325 hp? (680 Hp Total)

I am just looking for reliability out of my old and dont want to hurt anything by adding a little go to her...

Just adding the Quadzilla and that turbo WILL NOT get you an additional 355 hp.

Thats fine. Even if it adds 1Hp, my question stands. How far can I increase Hp before replacing engine componets?


I understand the Hp ratings posted on their websites that claim (180Hp) and (175Hp) are Max if the temp is just right, the grass is green enough and the moon is in the correct position...

Well, if you install the Adrenaline you will be replacing stuff soon. The only way to go is with an SCT and custom tuning because it tunes the engine and trans. Before you do anything, you need to get some type of monitor to see how your engine is doing now. Something like an Edge Insight CS or CTS. You need to watch the EOT and ECT closely and make sure there isn't more than 15 degrees difference between the two. Anything over 15 means your oil cooler is restricted which would require replacement. Also recommend a coolant flush with Restore and Restore Plus to get the junk Ford Gold coolant out of the system which is what causes the oil cooler to become restricted. Add a coolant filter with an ELC coolant with an EC-1 rating and you should be good. If you want extra assurance, delete the EGR cooler. After that, you should be ok. I highly recommend staying away from the Adrenaline. Also, even on a perfect day, perfect moon positioning and greener grass, the turbo won't add 175hp. It probably says it will support up to 175 hp over stock, which means the Adrenaline adds more hp than the turbo will support. I'm being a little sarcastic, but you get the idea. Also,

Because it's just generic tuning. It has defuel parameters which is good but it doesn't tune the trans. which can and will cause damage. The SCT with custom tuning tunes the engine and trans. You get more power with less boost and timing and perfect shifting. Also, the SCT will run lower EGT's with custom tuning.
