quick FICM question

my Ficm took a dump, truck runs and cold starts like poo 36 volts and climbs to 48 with engine temp, and smooths out blah blah blah......a buddy of mine is doing a cummins swap in a 05 (our trucks are same, auto trans 4x4, 2005) and has a good ficm, i plan on buying it and putting it in my truck, does it need programmed to work in my truck? thanks in advance you guys rock!!

You can sell your old one for core value to shops that fix them. If it was my truck I would fix it and keep it in the truck as a spare, Like the old Ford dura-spark boxes. GREAT SCORE !
