Torqshift Transmission Problem
08 E-Series 6.0L w/ Torqshift - Codes: P0710 Trans Fluid Temp Sensor Voltage High and P0713 Trans Fluid Temp Sensor Circuit Malfunction (might have the two switched, either way, those are the codes) So, initially I had to change the trans fluid and filter for a PM service, so, while in there I changed the trans temp sensor, only because I've had one of those codes a couple times, changed the sensor and it was fine....well, the codes came right back, I check the harnesses for voltage and resistance checks, and even the new sensor, all done as per the service manual....everything checked out, manual says replace PCM, triple check everything, and I got the same result, order and install PCM, programmed and updated thru dealership....two days later, trans starts acting funny on highway, trips Check Engine Light, same exact codes *OUCH* Now, I'm stumped and open for any suggestions, first time a Torqshift gave me this much of a problem...thanks in Advance

it's likely you have a intermittent open/short somewhere. I would have put a internal harness in it before the pcm

Like Sinner the Tech said, sounds like a harness. My 7.3 would give me odd codes over and over again (such as dual alt isnt working when I only had 1 alt). It was the GEM module under the dash getting wet.
Harness in your 08 is a great place to start! |

Alright, I'll get on the internal harness, like I said, I triple checked all of my pinpoint testing cuz I was a little leery myself about an ECM....
No, its out of warranty, it has almost 110k miles on it, its an ambulance, so she's running all day everyday, and no DPF on it, Ford continued to use the 6.0L in E Series up until around 2009ish, I believe, and I have no idea how they snuck that thru the new emissions laws, but I can get back to you on that one Sent from my PG86100 using AutoGuide App |
