How to tell about truck being flashed

This may have been asked 100's of times but i have been looking for about 3 hours now and searching. How can you tell if your truck has ever been flashed. I have a 05 F250 CCSD 6 speed. How can you tell if it has ever been reflashed and how much does it usually cost? I have read alot of forums people talking and asking about them but never have seen a thread on what it will do and cost and if you can tell if it has been done. I have a SCT x3 i know i will have to return the truck back to stock before if/when i have this done.
