just mailed in my last truck payment

truck is payed off.
KBB says the the trade in value is $23,000 with 80,00 miles on it. I f you were me would you get rid of the 6.0 for a 2012. I was thinking a new KR if I could get it out the door for less than $30.000 with my trade. Anyone think it is possible. Don't even know why Iam thinking about this. Not having a truck payment would be great. Guess I am feeling frisky

I'd keep it but that's just me. I've been making payments for over 5 years on my truck and am almost done.

Keep the 6.0 and put the payment into savings. No payment is great!

Also hate to say it but you'll have a hard time getting a dealer to give you even trade in value for it. They can make the number look good on paper when comparing it to MSRP of the new one but in reality they won't want to put that much "real" money in to your trade.

Yeah, if the dealer gives you 16K you should be happy. Plus even at a trade in at say 20K the KR would still run you in the mid 38-40K

after being without car/truck payments I would never go back, 500$ plus a month adds up quick, and a 6.0 with 80k on it is just getting broken in. Spend a little of the savings on buuletproofing the 6.0,the payments saved over 1 year could replace a blown 6.0, 8 months a tranny, 2 years would buy a helluva nice rv/boat/ atv/ utv/ motorcycles/hot rod/etc to tow behind it.

thanks for all the input guys. i think I am going to keep the ol 6.0. Saving $600 a month is going to pretty nice. The truck does everything i ask it do (Towing, 4 wheeling, smoking ricers). I just put about $2500 into the motor for the major "bullet proofing" Items. Let the customizing begin. Three months and I ll have the cash for a nice 4" lift,rims and tires. Just had the itch to buy something this morning. Talked my self out of it.
