Master Cylinder going out???!!!!

Took my truck in to the dealership to get an inspection to get the esp going, and they came back and said I need to replace my master cylinder, power steering pump and pressure line and one of the intercooler hoses.

Now how can I tell if the master cylinder is really going bad or are they just trying to make a few bucks off of me? I trust them as my uncle is the parts manager there but I havent noticed any signs of it acting up or going out!

What should I really look for to tell if it is bad?

A symptom you almost always feel is a brake pedal that will not hold. You stop, hold the brake, and the pedal will slowly move toward the floor. This is a sure sign the master cylinder is bad. As for power steering pump if your hearing a whining noise and you want turn your wheels from lock to lock while your stopped its probably on its way out. As for intercooler hoses just check for cracking or flaking, but on a truck with that low miles should need intercooler hoses, or a brake booster, or power steering pump for that matter. This just r emends me how much I hate the stealership. Good Luck.

The one intercooler hose is saturated with oil so I can see that needing to be replaced, and supposedly the ps pump is leaking from the front seal. I need to crawl under there and look.

Only reason I took it in was to do the inspection so I can get the damn warranty! Hopefully I can get these thing taken care of cheap. Im gonna go test out the master cylinder and look at the ps pump in a little bit!!!
