new 6.0 owner with some questions!

Hello all, I am the proud new owner of an 06 6.0 cc. In my purchase, the seller gave me his x3 tuner with the truck and told me he used it on his previous truck, but never the one I just bought from him. I read the sticky on what to look for when buying an x3 and just want to confirm my findings. It says in the device info "device married". Im assuming that I have to send the device to SCT because of this. It says it has 5 unlocks though. I just want to be sure I am reading everything correctly. This forum has already been VERY helpful, and can't wait to start diving into some aftermarket goodies! First thing ordered for the truck was an edge insight. thanks for the help guys!

With the X-3, it should say "locked" or "unlocked". I'm not sure why yours is saying "device married". I can only assume "device married" means that it's locked.

1-You have two choices then, have the original owner return his truck back to stock so it will unlock the SCT and won't cost you any money.

2- Contact SCT so they can give you a Return Authorization, so you can send them the X-3 to be unlocked for $150.


Is this X-3 an original style or newer style?

Lilpooh is right on this. Your X3 is still married to the previous owner's truck. Based on your post I assume he no longer has that truck either, so you are stuck sending it back to SCT.
