yes i am aware this is probably a dumb question but i got a 2006 f250 and i'm running rotella 15w40 oil. im wanting to start adding rev-x to my truck but im seeing everyone whos running that is using like 5w40 synthetic. do i have to run that synthetic or can i still do rev-x using my current 15w40 with no problems?
Run it in whatever oil you choose. Still does the same thing regardless. 6.0's just love synthetic oil more than any other diesel normally does IMHO. Has to do with the way the injection system operates.
thanks. my question now is how much is this synthetic? (I would probably choose rotella)
and also is the switch ok? I have heard choose an oil and stcik with it. these engines dont like you switching oils on them all the time. is that true?
ok well I'm doing the rev-x for sure. still debating on switching oils. but I checked out the rev-x website and it showed a ton of bottles, labels, sizes and amounts. Rev-X is all the same correct? and also how much would I need to purchase?
You're welcome. The only reason I know that is because I've been researching it for a couple of days now because I've never used it either but I'm with you at $65 for 8 oz of additive it better be something wonderful. From the reviews and all the testimonials I've read it is though.
yepp same here. people swear by it. at a huge Ford dealership in my hometown they sell the stuff inside. "buy a new ford and get some Rev-X while your at it"
