Which one restore or restore plus?
Ok here's the question I have getting ready to do a egr delete plus oil cooler change. Have who knows what as antifreeze right now in the engine. Going to flush the system before I start the whole change and I am wondering what is the best product for me. My egr right now is no good a cloud of white smoke. So should I use both products or can I get by with one and be good and which one for that? Also looking into putting a coolant filter in just got to save a little more money to get it. Oh and going with the elc from napa and the synthetic oil. Thanks ahead of time for all the help probably will need more before this job is completed.

You need both. They do very different things. The restore is to remove the coating that the stock coolant deposits onthe walls of the cooling system to help stop cavitation issues.
The restore+ is to remove rust scale build up in the system. You can use Ford VC-9 in place of the restore+ (you will need 2 quarts), there is no substitute that I know of for the restore product. If you were to skip the restore, the elc style coolant could react chemically with the coating from the existing coolant, since it is a very different type and style. If you were to skip the restore+, you would be leaving the rust scale in the cooling system. |

Ok thanks I will be placing a order for both of them. I just want to try and do it right the first time so maybe I don't have to do it again for awhile.

You order Restore and Restore Plus from a Cumins parts distributors. You may find Restore at a Cumins heavy equipment shop but usually not the Restore Plus. You can always use 2 qts of VC-9 instead of Restore Plus and that should be available through your Ford dealer. Thing is 2 qts of VC-9 cost more than a gallon of Restore Plus.
