How long to get air out of High Pressure Oil System??
I just updated the STC fitting, dummy plugs, and standpipes on my 05 Powerstroke. It was having hot start issues. The dealership told me I needed a new HPOP, but everyone on the forum said STC, Dummies, and standpipe would do it. So after replacing them it took a lot of cranking to get it started. I knew that it would. I have let it idle for about 30 minutes and driven it for 30 minutes. It still takes a descent amount of cranks to get it started. Is that normal? It runs perfect after it starts. Just didnt know if something else was wrong or it just takes a while to get the air out of the system. Is there anything I can do to expedite the process?

When my hpop was installed had to take it out for a couple drives to get the air out.

Did you check your IPR sensor for screen damage or blockage.

Yep check IPR valve screen for damage or contamination. Put no less than 100 miles on it then recheck. It can take a long time to work all the air out of the HPOP system.

I replaced the IPR when I was in there.

There could be a chance that debris and dirt was in the system and either blocked up the new IPR screen or damaged the screen.

Go take it out and romp on it for a bit. It will purge the air faster the higher the ICP is.

I am always looking for a good excuse to stomp the powerstroke!
