03 f250 surge when SCT is on

i have a egr delete and full exhaust and intake and sct. truck runs great in stock mode or in the 2 towing modes but when its in street or performance mode when i get on it the truck takes off then surges its still going but you can hear it changing sound. not sure what it is if you have any ideas id appricate the help thanks.

Did you pull any codes? The SCT isn't that good of a code reader, so you might have to find a better scanner.

Being that it's a '03, check the ICP sensor, pigtail, and wire harness. Look for oil seeping out of the sensor or plug and wire harness damage. There should be no oil.

my mechanic has one and checked it 2 injectors were bad put new ones in and its still doing it but not as bad ill check ICP sensor on it when i go there tomorrow thanks

My truck sounds like it's doing something similar. Light to moderate throttle with my SRL tune and it's fine, but if I get after it a bit, I can feel it surge as it acellerates. Still goes like an ape, but surges. I contacted the writer for my tunes and he suggested fuel pump capacity.

What is recommended for a fuel capacitor? Are any of those pure flow airdogs things any good? would they help?

A new pump may be in order....there are tons of guys on this forum running the exact same tune as I am with the OEM pump and no issues. I have over 200K on the OEM pump...I could justify a replacement with that many miles.

Custom Tunes or Pre Loaded on the SCT?

Sorry, looks like preloads, go to device info make sure it is up to date, fw 1.2.131 and tune version 1.8.0, if it is an device that starts with XP, did it do it as soon as you put the perf or street tune on, or was it running ok with those for a while then started?

If there are underling issues with a truck, tunes will amplify the issue.

He may not notice the issue when in the lower tunes, because the demands are not there, but load a performance tune where demands are even higher, and the gremlin will show issues.

pre loaded tunes i bought it from mkm custom. and right when i put it ran great in the two towing modes +55hp and +65hp then the street and performance modes make it surge. ill check the device info tomorrow when i get to my shop. it should be up to date i bought it about 5 months ago. thanks i appricate all the help
