Shouldn't need the Air Dog. It will help you with cold starts, and I saw a little bit better mileage out of my truck when I got mine put in. If your current FICM isn't going bad then I wouldn't replace it unless you have $400 burning a hole in your pocket.

x2 Mine was going bad so I replaced it with the 58V and had them add the "mild performance tune" and I have seen a jump in MPG. It's not cold so I can't speak for cold starts but I am pleased so far.

Call and talk to the ficm dudes at SWAMPS diesel performance. I have a 05 and my ficm went out I wanted to get the 58v and was told this was not a good idea unless I have some big mods on my truck. The 58v I was told will need more fuel to run and if on a truck that is almost stock will not run that well at all. Just passing on what I was told, give them a call
