Welcome Jefpo66!
I've got an '05 F-250 and wouldn't trade it for the world so I seriously doubt you'll be disappointed.

Thanks for the good news Rod. I asked alot of people that owned the 6.0 before I traded my 7.3 and I had mostly good comments. But since my purchase, I have heard horror stories. I took my truck in to the dealer for a small problem and the shop foreman even told me he wish I had'nt got rid of the 7.3. That did'nt help my feelings any either. I bought it to ride in, not stay in the shop.

I know allot of the 7.3 folks were leery about it because most were extremely satisfied with the 7.3. You'll always read more horror stories than you will satisfaction stories, just because when people have a problem they're on the web looking for answers and are much more vocal. Rest assured that the majority though couldn't be happier with their 6.0.

Another newbe here. The end of August, got my F350 DRW KR (good discount with the friends and family along with an F150 Lariat trade in). Love my truck. Used to be, I would look forward to go-home time just to go home, now, I look forward so I can drive my truck. The thing never ceases to amaze me. Haven't had a chance to do much interstate driving since I got it, but my better half and I are traveling from Memphis to Austin for Thanksgiving. Having the tow boss package, I'm not expecting super milage, but as long as I can get close to what I did with the 150, I'll be happy. Both my 150 and the 'beast' get around 15MPG in city diving. Now, all I gotta do is get something to pull .. the wife keeps looking at 35' Fifth Wheel trailers, but up until now, the biggest I'd pulled was a 30' travel trailer with my old F250 Camper Special (1972 vintage). As far as problems, I only have 1 ... that is keeping foot out of it, it is so much fun to drive.

Hey welcome to Powerstroke.org Larry! Nice to have ya here - and REALLY glad you love your new rig. I know the feeling you described trust me. My '05 is like one of my kids.

Enjoy the site! Oh and enjoy your trip to Austin - I'll be about two hours north west of there over that same time frame doing some hunting.

Thanx for the welcome. Yup, got the torqueshift ... nice tranny. I've been really considering using an upfitter switch for the idle up, but haven't done it yet. Also, there is a couple other ideas I've picked up in other threads. One is to turn on and off the heated mirrors, and the second is to power a frame mounted air compressor. The gentleman that wrote the compressor thread initially was to power some air horns, but it sort of eveolved. After attempting to increase my front tire pressure from 50psi from the dealer to 60 (ford recommended), the frame mounted compresssor sounds better all the time. Since I'm planning on picking up a 34' plus fifth wheel, that is even more reason to have an air supply ... my little wally world 300psi plug-in-the-power-port. 15 minutes per tire to go up 10psi .. gotta be a better method, then the darn rear tires, can't even get the wally-world special in there, so it looks like frame mounted air here I come.

Rodslinger, where bouts? We will actually be in the Lake Buchannan area. Wife has a sister there (kingsland) and my daughter and son-in-law have a house at the southwest corner of the lake.

Ya'all (had to get the southern lingo in here someplace) have a happy thanksgiving.

Larry
