Deltas and tstat clarification.

So got my CTS installed an from all the reading I've been doing on here looks like I'm headed for issues or already have one.

Driving around today (bout 45 minutes each way once at 1pm and once at 7 pm) in the current Texas heat (110) and unloaded I'm getting deltas of 30-45* and that's with the ECT's from 192-196. Hovers around 192-194 and 196 when I'm on it some and not cruising. Even at night (9pm dark) it got about 30*.

Guess I'm gonna have to do my oil cooler and egr delete sooner than I thought but that's why I got the CTS. I'm also wondering if I have a tstat issue as well and what issues might happen if I drive the truck more than the 2 miles to work till I can get to replacing the cooler with the bulletproof one that's in the mail right now (weekend after labor day).

I'll be calling powerstroke magic tomorrow also to see what they might charge for flush and replace the oil cooler do egr block so I don't have to wait or worry about messing it up.

One last thing is I had a small leak at the drain plug and wondering if I could have lost too much oil from mid June to mid august when I put rtv on the plug to keep it from leaking. Part of me thinks that I could have lost some which could cause higher EOT's.

Also open for more shops in Houston area to call and see how they'd charge for the work.

I dont understand the tstat issue. You obviously have a plugged cooler to see that high of a delta.

From some of the threads I was reading it sounded like the running ect was low at 192-194 but might just be nothing.

Any issue if I drive it to college station and back labor day weekend?

Thats the thing. It has to have been like this for a little while now and ive been back to cs with it a few times since I got it in June.

Well BCS is only 1.5hr from Houston.....

IDK man. thats a toss up. If you made it fine in the past, guess one more time wouldnt hurt. But now you know what its acutally doing...makes ya think about it.

Exactly my dilemma. I know it's cool for work since I drive a short distance. I do know for both day trips today on 290 and the beltway it never got past 240* eot. And it sucks to see it an know but it seems to run just fine.

i just got off the phone with them not too long ago but problem is i dont think im ready to drop about 1500 to do the oil cooler and egr block when i have the cooler itself.
