turbo interchange question
Will a turbo from an 06 fit on a late 04? If so, what are advantages or disadvantages? I have also heard that the 03 6.0 turbo is louder and has a little more boost. Anyone heard this?
Off topic- the front suspension on my 04 is noisy as hell like schweeky. Anyone have this issue? |

Yes, the 06 will interchange with the 04 turbo. The advantage is that the journal bearings are a bit larger (more surface area) on the 06 than the 04. The disadvantage is that the 06 is a bit more quiet since it has 15 vanes on the exhaust side, while the 04 has 12 vanes and is a bit louder. It is true that the 03 turbos are the loudest (of the stock turbos) since they have 10 vanes on the exhaust side.
I have a coil spring front end since I have an 05 so I can't comment on your front suspension. |

The 03 turbo will need an 03 pedestal if you want to get all the bolts in. It will bolt up to the front 2 bolts on the late model pedestal though.
