2 weeks no use
Starting in September I will be working in Alaska. My work schedule will be 2 weeks up there working and 2 weeks off not working. Should I be concerned letting my truck sit for 2 weeks without any use? I was planning on having my girlfriend start it up and let it run like 2 times a week. Anything else I can do? Trickle charger? Thanks guys

my truck gets used less then every two weeks when im home. Shouldnt need a trickle charger for two weeks. When I deploy for over a month i hook up the charger. Never had any issues.

My truck hates going a day without being started so I would say yes to twice a week being started IMO

No need. I live in Alaska and there are times when my truck doesn't run for more than two weeks. I have never had a problem. That includes in the winter. Those two 1000 CCA batteries help too

Unless it is going to be driven and fully warmed up, I would not start it as you are doing more harm than good.

The truck will sit in minnesota, not Alaska. Hopefully my girlfriend let's me keep it inside in the garage. Thanks for the advice. If it sits inside it won't be touched.

Here is what you do:
Park the truck in the garage when the girlfriend isn't looking. Pack your keys and take them with you to Alaska. When she calls you, apologize profusely. It is always easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission. |
