Hello
I just purchased a 04 f250 6.0 with 111000. I have been reading about the egr delete and have a few questions. I know if you weld the pipe the computer will still see to egr as working so no trouble codes will show However if I take the truck to emmissions and they put it on a sniffer is it likely to fail with the cooler bypassed. thanks for the input. |

Yes, if you have actual emissions testing more than a OBD2 Ready/Not Ready check, it will most likely fail with a blocked off EGR.
IMO, The best solution for states with actual testing is a tune that disables the EGR Valve from opening during normal operation, possibly combined with a bulletproof cooler if you want piece of mind, or if you're replacing the EGR cooler already because it has failed, definately use the Bulletproof one. The tune disables the EGR system during normal operation, but you return the tune to stock when it comes testing time. After testing, just turn it back off again. |

Thanks for the answer any advice on a good tuner that wont break the bank?

Most people here will probably recommend the SCT SF3 as your cheapest option, it's around $400ish.
