Edge Camera has interference lines
Hey, I installed an edge backup camera a little while back. When truck is running it has horizonal lines of interference. I was just wandering if anyone else has this problem. I may try to seperate the wiring from any other wiring, I just don't see it causing my problem with the way the cable is shielded. I have a good ground also. It looks like a ac interference, but I know that ain't the case. I may have to put an oscilloscope on it to find where its coming from. I'm hoping someone has had this problem and knows exactly what to do. This forum has saved me a lot of time an effort in the past.

I have the same issue on my Excursion. Installed the camera yesterday. Should there be a choke on the power cord? Is it picking up interference from another. Able in the wiring loom from the run from the camera? Or is it from the engine? It seems to be in synch with engine RPM....

I had a backup camera installed when I put a new headunit/navigation in my truck. I have had the interference forever. The installer informed me that there is interference in the diesel trucks for some reason, and he said he couldn't fix it. It's not enough for me to worry about.

I called Edge about it. They said yeah we have heard of the problem, let us know if you get it fixed. I havn't done anything about i just learned to live with it. I was gonna put another camera on the ball in the bed. But from the response I have gotten from Edge I dont plan on using one of theirs.

I am more interested in making mine turn on by itself when you put the pickup in reverse rather than have to tell it to turn on...Any ideas?

Yup, everything works just fine with it, at least I am happy with it.
