Add oil when adding bypass?

I'm going to be adding the oil bypass filter this weekend. I know the truck holds 15qts. but it seems logical to bump that to 16 to make up the extra room in the system caused by the 2nd filter.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Prefill your oil bypass filter before you hang it on the filterhead, or add a quart.

Depends on the size of the filter. Like NYC said, Prefill the filter and then after running check the level and top off as needed. Then you'll know how much more oil to put in.

I use 15 quarts when I swap out both filters. Past years people recommended 14qt oil changes to prevent the "romps". 15 qts doesn't bother my rig.
