Questions about findings on oasis report
Looks like with 27k on it my 06 F250 has only had one worth mentioning repair according to the oasis, here it is
Cust Comments: CUSTOMER STATES AFTER DRIVING AND GETTING WARM WILL CRANK BUT NOT START, WILL RESTART AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT Tech Comments: INSPECTED FOR CONCERN. EEC TESTED CODE P2291 ICP LOW. RAN OASIS, CHECKED OIL LEVEL AND CONDITION, TWO QUARTS LOW. INSPECTED OIL FILTER, AFTERMARKET. RECOMMEND PERFORM FAST LUBE AND RETEST. AFTER OIL CHANGE, TEST DROVE AND VERIFIED HOT START CONDITION. HAS TSB 9 22 16. PERFORMED AIR TEST, REMOVED BOTH VALVE COVERS AND CHECKED FOR LEAKS. Does this mean that my truck has most likely had the STC fitting replaced already? |

Maybe, maybe not. Your report lists a TSB that is a clue, since it does not state exactly what worked was performed. The TSB 9-22-16 updated torque values for the HPOP mounting bolts. The service manual stated 97 in/lb, the tsb changed that value to 124 in/lb.
This does not definitively mean that your STC fitting was replaced with the updated 'one piece' style. That would depend on the date of the service. I think I read that the most up to date fitting (which is a straight fitting) did not come out until 08. Previous to that they would replace the fitting with the same old STC style fitting, but they would add a brace that would hold the fitting a little more steady when installed. So, you may have the STC fitting with an additional brace installed. |
