egr plugged in or not
most of you have your egr valve wire hanging there unplugged or do you have it plugged in with the valve hanging there? I have a full delete and had it hanging there plugged in to the valve with that hanging there. Now i just unplugged it and have the wire hanging there not plugged into the valve. Any problems either way?

Plug it back in, certain strategies have issues with the clutch fan not reaching full RPM with the EGR valve unplugged. I've noticed with my strategy (VXAP2) the VGT won't vane cycle.

o man. now that you say that mine doesnt do that anymore since i unplugged it. i also have vxap2. it cycled the vanes when i had it plugged in but does not now that i have it unplugged. i thought it was in the tune but that must definitley be why they do not cycle anymore. Does yours cycle when you have it plugged in? hopefully i have my valve laying around so i can plug it in. did you notice an overboost when you had it unplugged?

I noticed it last year.
http://www.thedieselgarage.com/forum...d.php?t=102838 When it's plugged in, the vanes cycle in all my tunes. When it's unplugged, no vane cycle. I even unplugged it when the vanes were cycling, and it stopped the cycle immediately. Plugged it back in, and with in 30 seconds the vanes started to cycle. Makes you wonder what else is effected when unplugged, and with out a good diagnostic scan tool to monitor what's going on, you may never know until you have issues. No I never had a overboost code when it was unplugged. |

Have heard more and more about these issues with EGR delete and Egr valve unplugged... Kinda seems like maybe deletes arent the way to go?

plugged egr valve back in this morning and its been about a year since i heard my vanes sweep. also my truck did not overboost either which it was hitting 35-36 psi before and hits 31-32 now. I have a vxap2 strat so some may not experience this problem with an older strat. its weird when i thought through tuning you could shut the egr off but i guess not there must still be something running through there.
