You can get eccono files for the SCT. Basicly it is a change in the timing and fuel delivery. I have picked up a couple MPG with these kinda files.

wow, I think I might go hypertech max! Do they make one of those for my 04? I could use the fuel milage over the power right now for cruising, and towing.

if i'm not mistaken (and I could be) hypertech and those types of tuners defuel the engine to keep EGTs down - thats's their safeguard... you can get an econo tune on any custom tuner that is just as safe as those hypertech tuners

Eric from Innovative does have an Econo tune. I have it, but haven't had a reason to run it. Too much fun with the Xtremes!

Guess I will haveto try it and let everyone know. He told me it's a boring tune but you get GREAT mpgs outta it.

I don't know how you pulled that off, but I wish I did...I'm running the HyperPAC, and the tunes must be the same, because it quotes the same power, and that you can run it in any stage while towing. I don't see hardly any gains in fuel economy...I do good to get 14mpg. 30 of the 40 miles (round trip) that I make to work are on the highway, and because of where I live, I would say that 70%-80% of my driving is highway. Plus, I have had some transmission issues lately, and only when running the tuner. Now, I did spend a year in Korea, so I just got the latest PCM flash from Ford last Friday...the most recent one before that would have been somewhere around Sept/Oct 05. I wasn't able to update online...I was supposed to have an SD memory card on my doorstep today, and it didn't come, so I who knows what will happen now. I can't be 100% sure the tuner caused the transmission problems, but if it didn't, I had some hokey schitt goin on before Ford got hold of it last week. Oh yeah, and the truck only has 30K on it.

I know that with my Xtreme setting on my DI 6pos, if I baby it, I can get some pretty good MPG numbers. Though I hardly EVER baby it. Rollin' Coal and running 16's is too much fun.
