How long is too long for crank times
I have been reading up on long cranking times and I think my 6.0 is cranking abnormally long for a diesel but I have never had an electronically controlled diesel before. My previous experiences are Duetz engines in our tractors and irrigation pumps and a 1981 Luv pickup, all mechanical stuff.
I wait for the ready to start light to go out and then a few more seconds, maybe 4 or 5, and then it takes about 2-4 seconds of cranking to light off.
The engine spins fine not slow or anything like that I just don't know if that crank time is long or are we talking about 10-20 seconds of crank time as excessive?
