Rolella T6 oil 5w40

Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents on the oil debate. I just changed the oil in my '05 yesterday and put in Rotella T6 5w40(blue jug). I could not believe my ears when I started the truck. It was at least 40% quieter! Bought the oil at WalMart for $16.00 a gallon.

I thought about switching to synthetics. Everytime I do something that people say makes a drastic change, I barely notice a differance Might still do the switch anyway, cool that it made a noticeable differance for ya.

Not looking for quieter, just smoother I suppose, not that I have any complaints, 5" exhaust is definatly for me

I did not notice quieter when I start it up after switching from 15w40 to T6 5w40 but the next morning i really noticed it. It needs to run a bit to get all though the HPOP, and then things start quieting down a lot. I love loud diesel clatter too, but not at the expense of my injectors in the 6.0. This ain't no 24 valve.

Exactly my friend. Diesel noise is great, but not at the expense of my injectors.

I found the same thing when I switched from Motorcraft 15w40 to Mobil Delvac 5w40 full syn. After a couple of days the injectors did quiet down quite a bit! Also fixed my bit of a stiction issue I was starting to have on the first cold start every morning.

i run this stuff and love it..cant tell a whole bunch of difference in noise right after an oil change with the 6.0, but with my 7.3 i certainly did. Anywho, Im gunna keep using it!
