SWAMPS FICM Question
So from the news in this thread I've come to the conclusion that it is time for a new FICM.
Other than a 4" MBRP the truck is stock. I have a CTS to keep an eye on things. Is it safe to add their performance "flash" without doing any damage? It's still a bit early to call them but I don't see any info on their website about the flash so does anyone know what kind of RWHP I could see out of this? |

I am curious to see what the extra $150 gets you also

Definitely do the performance flash. IIRC, it's an FICM tune from PHP they load on there. It will boost mileage, throttle response, and turbo spooling.

I've been calling to more info but haven't gotten through to anyone yet. Do you know if it is safe with stock bolts?

EDIT: I didn't realize you don't have custom tunes. If that's true, the FICM will give you about 50 HP over stock, IIRC. When tuned it really only adds 10-20. |

OK so I got a hold of Jon at Swamps explained the situation and he suggested getting the 58v unit. He said the flash is an added bonus if I could afford it but he didn't have a lot of details other than to confirm it was created by PHP. I called PHP to get more info and they are closed for the week.
Is the 58v unit really worth the extra $75. I get nervous over doing things for no reason so I was leaning towards the 48v w/ mild flash. |

Definitely worth the extra cash!

Does it put extra load on other components such as the injectors. I really don't want to risk breaking something else.

Nope, from what I've been told, it's actually better for the injectors.

Swamps Heavy Duty rebuilt 58v FICM for 6.0L Power Stroke
FICM options:Mild performance flash ORDERED! Fingers crossed. |
